Storytellers: Wisconsin First Nations Portraits
Presented by Wisconsin Public Television
Regional Artist Gallery
SEPTEMBER 28 - DECEMBER 16, 2018
Wisconsin Public Television’s Tribal Histories projects is part of the collaborative Wisconsin First Nations partnership, a response to the Act 31 Initiative: the statutory requirement that all school districts provide instruction in the history, culture and tribal sovereignty of the American Indian nations in the state. This exhibit will feature photographs of tribal leaders who were featured in the Tribal Histories project. These leaders were recorded in the beautiful natural settings of the regions that native people have called home for centuries, the programs feature rich retellings of the challenges, triumphs and time-honored traditions that have shaped their vibrant communities across generations.
